In revenge for the assination of Heydrich the Nazis liquidated the village of Lidice (18 kilometres from Prague). On 10th June 1941 the village was wiped from the face of The Earth. All 173 men were shot, all women sent to the Ravensbruck concentration camp and most children were gassed in the extermination camp at Chelmno, Poland
